Default O.K., I got the car back!

Roof Update:

Condition: CK Roof is Inop will not open
Cause: Broken Cam on Roof Link Assy
Remedy: Replaced Right Side Link Assy

Roof Panel Link Subassembly R&R 5.9 hours
Part# 6430124020 Bracket S/A, Package (Tray?) The line was cut off after Package. They showed me roughly where the part was to the right and below the package tray. They said the part was probably $55 and the labor is where the expense would come in if I had to pay for it.

I'd say the cause of this is still uncertain. The service tech said I should drive it to the dealership if the roof switch lights and chimes again. I don't believe that this was caused by the trunk being open at the rear. By the way, if the trunk is open, the red "door ajar" light on the dash comes on, and I know that light was not on when the car started chiming. I definitely would have seen that light driving at night.

I will put the Bushing repair in another more appropriate thread and will hopefully remember to link it here:

Benjo, here is your procedure to open the top manually. After it open, try to close it with the button

I don't see the relation between the key lock and the top operaion. When the light is flashing, most likely your valet button is ON or your cover in the trunk is OFF. Check them.

Are you sure you are talking about a SC430? Our cars are better designed in the fact they don't have hydraulic cylinders.

I thought he said " locking cylinder ". You are right, he might refer to something else.

You might be right, I may have spoken too soon. But he also mentioned "pump" which is what hydraulic tops use. The SC430 uses motors instead of pumps.

I know because I just had to take out my hydraulic cylinders in my BMW and send them in for repair. While I was at it, I replaced my pump motor.
