2010 Radio in 2006 SC430
Hi,
I just purchased a CPO 2006 SC430 in February and been having trouble with the radio. I called my local Lexus dealer to see if I could get it serviced or replaced.
My question is, can a radio for the 2010 SC430 with the ipod integration be put into a 2006 model and work.
I would be willing to pay an additional fee and all, but i am just wondering if this will work at all. Would love to get the Ipod integration in the car.... no one seems to know.

One of the simplist solutions is and aftermarket device from one of our authorized vendors, Viastech. Take a look at this thread: 2006 radio upgrading. There are several threads on this topic. BTW welcome to the forum! Here's a link to the ViasTech device: 2006-2009 ViasTech Integration upgrade

More than that.. In the 2010 version everything routes through the touchscreen and NAV jumps to GEN 6 from GEN 4. But most of all, you loose convenient access to a cassette tape deck. LOL

Thanks for the info
Thanks for the help with this. I was hoping that it would be a simple matter of replacing the radio and paying a few dollars more since I believe that the current radio is covered by my CPO warranty. Thought the NAV might be an issue. Oh well
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

It's doable - I just did it. But it really depends on what you mean by "paying a few dollars". My head unit was released this year and I kept the OEM amp and NAV. ( see my signature below for my mods)

I am getting a setup similar to Bobs. My installer has done TWO SC 430's just last week. I recently found out from Beatsonic that they are currently in production for a module that will allow the use of steering wheel controls (out by the end of this month). The Pioneer system they will install has:
built-in nav w/traffic (no charge)-works while you drive
bluetooth with handsfree phone & audio streaming
ipod
XM
display buttons where the colors can be changed
HD radio
Pandora & Aha radio
Rear camera
and yes I get to keep the working electric covers (doors), the amp, and speakers and the steering wheel controls work.
I can't wait. Talked to beatsonic today and they said they will let me know when they ship---YES!!!! Yep, I'll be keeping my 02 for a while.
