I bought the "star" covers, as they were called then, when they first became available about a year after the car's initial sale date, put them on the car (15 minutes), put the pie plates in the box and have never had the slightest desire to revert, nor have I ever had any offers from anyone to take those original pie plate covers off my hands.
They remain available, and the price gets more reasonable every day.

I bought the twist star center caps I also bought the wheels that they came on since the seller wanted sell the wheels with the center caps. It only took 20 minutes or so to swap out the caps.
I then cleaned up these new wheels so that I could sell them. As fate would have it the new rims have very few scuffs where as the ones that are on my car have some curb rash from the previous owner. So this weekend I will be having the tires and valve stems/pressure monitors swapped from my cars wheels to these new rims. But then I will have to swap the twisties back to these rims too. I wish I had looked at the condition of the rims first and saved myself some time. Oh well LOL
