Just changed my 6x9 door speakers with 4 ohm Pioneer TS-G6943R two-way speakers. Sound is great.

After reading everything here, other threads and what else I could find to read, I also went with the risk using the 4 ohm nominal impedence speakers.. It is two of the 9 speakers so not like they all are have half the spec, I don't crank up the sound and most of my trips are less than 30 min. Also I could not find a single post from any one who had a problem with just swapping out the door speakers.

I had the same experience as mandyfig - no visual signs of breaks or anything but just by tapping the cone it would buzz on the passenger side. I replaced the driver's side too but it was in good condition. I will post the good one on the classifieds to help a member that only needs to replace a single speaker.

I should have done this earlier but the buzzing was getting a lot worse now. I recently had to remove the door panels to get the tint reinstalled so I had already learned that so doing it again for the speakers was easy.

I love this forum and appreciate all the help and info.

Great, another busted speaker replaced. Replacement ML sets are so expensive do not know why!
