Black Pearl Badges - Unique, Desirable?
I have seen rather few SC430 local roads, and I don't think any had the Black Pear Badges. I'm wondering, are they rare, unique, or at all desirable?
The issue I have noticed is that the front black Pearl "L" badge starts to look like a checkered badge... black in spots, and turning white in other spots, as if the rain drops stain in white over time. The ironic part is that I read the "instruction book" which originally came with the badges and it clearly states to "wipe off and remove any liquid, including water, from the black pearl badges". So after every rain I need to pull over and wipe off the badges? LOL I'm assuming there's no "lifetime warranty" on the original badges.

I think it'll look good on black SCs, look ok on white SCs, but not good on my silver SC

I don't have an SC, but I do have Black Pearl emblems on my GS and will say that they're highly desirable. Plasti-Dip in my opinion, looks very very cheap. The Black Pearl emblems are like fine jewelry for the car. Also, you don't need to wipe the emblems off after every rainstorm - just wash the car periodically with soap specifically designed for washing cars. Do not use dish soap! Also, tape the emblems off every time you plan to wax the car.

I agree that the Black Pearl is very desirable and maybe one day I will get them, but I like to spend my money on more (IMHO) important mods.
I don't agree that the Plasti Dip 'looks very very cheap' and I am sure unless an expert looks closely they would never know it was just a sprayed on finish.
Mine has been on for a year now and washing and waxing has not affected it at all (and I certainly don't have to tape it while waxing). In fact the wax has given it a nicer sheen.
Obviously I would prefer the Black Pearl, but I still say it is an easy alternative.
Best regards
Steve

I bought a can of plastidip about a year ago, it has held up great. I get compliments on it all the time. Only six bucks for a can.

drop tops is a 2005 a PB and so is mine a 2005 PB they both came with black pearl logos all around except for the grill logo. I was able to find one from a member in the forum and I changed my chrome grill logo to the found black pearl. I really like the elloquent suttle statement they make
