stock color for SC?
Hi i'm in the market for an SC and I came across this car. Never seen this color. I figured the car might be Salvaged and repainted. But the owner said it was never hit.
Its definitely not silver tho. Wat you think?

Being hit and being repainted are two different things.
Even though never hit, many cars are repainted for different reasons, including a simple inclination for a different color.
From those photographs, it looks like the primer has been applied and the car is ready for the final coat, so if you buy that one, you will have great flexibility in selecting your own color.

This is a real longshot. It might be "thundercloud" a rare 2002 Neiman Marcus special edition color, but the interior color is wrong for the 100 cars made NM Christmas Catalog.
If you have access to the car check the label inside the door for the car's three character color code.
The label is located on the drivers door end, near the latch. It should be a black rectangle about 3" x 1". Right under the bar code is some text: C/TR: xxx.
Then go to http://www.toyotareference.com/lexussc and verify the color for the year. All of the legit color codes are on that site.
Here is a thread that has a legit picture of the 02 Neiman Marcus special edition https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...-pictures.html The second photo of the car's exterior, the one in shadow, looks a little similar to the photo you posted. But as I mentioned the leather should be red, not saddle as in your picture.
Are those chrome wheel in your photo? The NM edition came with chome "pie plates" whereas regular models had standard wheels...What about under the hood...is the engine cover red?
It's another SC430 mystery...
Looks like you have some due diligence work. Good luck, if it is a Neiman Marcus car and the price is reasonable it would be very rare, just one of a hundred and even more unique if somehow they ordered a different interior.

Appreciate the responses! I contacted the guy again he said the car has a salvaged title but because it was vandalized. I think he's being dishonest tho being with the strange exterior color. Its an 03 he's asking 11,500. 93k miles.

That color is not an original color.

I think I would pass on this car. While he's pricing it pretty low, you jst don't know what you're getting into. With those miles you could do a lot better for a couple thousand more and get a clean title.

That's definitely not the original color. And it would take some pretty serious vandalism for a car to have a salvaged title. Like if it had been set on fire. I'd keep looking.

Check the door for the color code and look at post # 6 on this link for color match.

Maybe it got vandalized or stolen for the red interior. I know of a friend that had one that was similar in color with red interior. I don't know if it was a special edition but I am gonna lean towards that it was cause they totaled his just cause all the interior stuff was stolen. His car got stolen in a airport parking garage by a rollback tow truck. He told me that the insurance company normally would not total a car for that reason but his interior was special order and Lexus wanted tons of money to get his exact interior.
This could be his car. Check the history it should have been titled in va beach Virginia but stolen from Orlando airport in 2008.
