Thumbs up Goodbye SC430, Hello ES350

Well, the last three years with my SC430 has been a true delight and I have enjoyed reading this forum for all the upgrade ideas. The wealth of knowledge, eagerness to help and the civility of this forum has set it at the top of the class. I'll be moving over to the ES350 forum after today's purchase of a 2009 model with 35k miles. Thanks to all and enjoy driving with that top down!

Tom

Hate to lose Sc owners but since you stayed with family, wish you luck. You could have kept the Sc and added the ES...

We have both an SC and an ES. The are both wonderful cars, just different. Enjoy!

My first Lexus was a 2009 ES which my husband drives now that I have my 2008 SC that I got a month ago. I love driving them both.

I'm with sebtownand Juli, got both, and they are very different vehicles. Glad I was able to keep both. Good luck with your ES. don't bother looking for a switch for the top to go down, it doesn't have one! lol The ES will haul more people and "stuff" than the SC through.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I've been stalking the ES forum and there's not much on mods like this forum. I'm going to miss this forum! Even hard to find pictures with instructions for a VAIS install. A lot less pictures overall on the ES forum.

You'll like the ES; I came from an 07 ES350 before getting the SC. It has a lot of kick for such a heavy FWD car.

Really comfy too - how are you liking the jump in technology?

Loving the technology, the quiet and the ride, but the 2009 lacks the 2010 radio technology. I didn't figure that out before I bought. The 2010 has a USB plug that you can use an ipod and see the songs on the Nav screen and skip songs on the steering wheel controls. The 2009 only has a 3.5mm earplug jack that you can plug the ipod into, but all changes has to be done on the ipod. The mileage is averaging about 22 mpg and the pickup is great for a 6 cylinder.

Do you think the VAIS will give you the IPOD controls you want on the steering wheel?
