07 SC430 questions with antenna and radio cover
My aunt just purchased a 2007 SC430 with only 3,800 original miles. The car still smells brand new on the inside. However, there are two issues/questions I have. First, the stereo cover is in the open position all the time. Is it suppose to close when the car is shut off just like the navigation cover, or is it manual? Secondly, the power antenna will not retract fully. It goes up and down, but not down all the way due to it being bent. The motor still works great. How easy is it to remove the current mast/antenna and install a new mast? Do I have to loosen the mast from inside the trunk? I replaced the whole unit (mast and motor) on my Supra a few years ago, but never just the mast.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

First, very nice aquisition...but remember it is not only the miles but the years too when thinking about maintenance issues.
The radio cover is an open and closed manually device. Unlike the NAV door it does not automatically close when the ignition is shut off. There is a silver colored oval switch, located at the center bottom of the door, which both opens and closes it.
If you use the search feature I posted a TSB on antenna replacement. You DO NOT have to take the trunk garnish apart to replace a bent aerial, unless the nylon track cord is stuck inside the motor assembly. The TSB gives you all the necessary steps to accomplish a DIY project.
