New owner, new to forum!
Hi all! Just bought my 2006 SC430 last week and enjoying every bit of the car so far. I traded in my 2004 Mercedes CLK320 so this is my first Lexus! This forum has been very helpful and it appears to have many happy owners. When I first entertained the idea of owning the SC430 I was very hesitant. I generally thought owners of this car are upper-class married men/women who use this car as their weekend toy. Never have I seen a person in their mid-20s driving one of these. But my first test drive erased all doubts!
Quick specs on my car:
Exterior: White gold crystal (basically white)
Interior: Saddle (orangish-brown)
Miles: 90,000
Any advice/tips you can share from your experience with this car will be greatly appreciated!

Goto Lexus Drivers web page sign up ...it's free and get the dealer maintenance history on your car....with 90k on now hopefully the timing belt has already been changed...otherwise you could be looking at some expensive maintenance issues...major ones happen at 30k intervals.
BTW welcome to the forum...the search tool, specifically the Advanced Search tool is your friend...lots of info on our cars...hopefully you read the "sticky" thread about buying a SC430.
The sticky thread pretty much covers the issues..you may run into.

Welcome to the best car forum around, LexManCA! You will find this forum a wealth of knowledge and some really great people. Good to see another californian. I am personally from Diamond Bar, on the border of LA and Orange Counties. Post some pics as soon as you can. Pretty easy to do-when you go to reply, hit the manage attachment button and its pretty self explanatory from there. Enjoy our great weather with that top down experience. I've been doing it every night this week. It is truly a blessing to own an SC in Southern Cal!

Welcome! That's a nice step up you made from the Benz to the SC430. I turn 20 in November and I've had my car for almost 2 years. Be prepared to get many looks from other drivers who see a young person in such a great car. Enjoy!

There are many folks in their 20's driving this great car. I'm not married, no kids, and use it as a daily driver.
The best tip I got was to drive with the top down with the a/c or heater on depending on which season you're in. Greatest feeling ever!

Smile When You Say....
Hey, LexManCA...smile when you say "upper-class married man..." And really, its usually "upper-middle class!"
Welcome aboard. And don't let anyone get away with assuming you're borrowing your Mom's car!

Welcome and good luck with your new ride, I'm sure you will love it as much as the rest of us love ours. BTW great color combo. We like ours also. Wanted it from the first time we saw it. We were thinking of getting a blue one that the dealership had at the same time but went the extra mile and a couple grand more for the white one, we're not sorry.

Welcome. I have same specs with 82K miles. Single female...age.. umhmmm!!! It's a car for anyone who enjoys it..and can afford the maintenance. Definitely go to the Lexus website and get the service history of car. If it didn't come with manuals, you can order those for free, instead of contacting the dealership for which they charge you. Have the 90k service done if it hasn't had it already. Mine is nearing. But I bought as my everyday car and love it to bits....once my kinks were worked out!!lol Enjoy!
