The tragedy of Macbeth is an excellent example of a divided man. As one follows Macbeth through the course of the play one realizes that he is a wealth of indecision and as a result of this lack of confidence suffers a bloody demise fitting for the butcher he was. Well, that may be a bit of an overstatement in my case. However . . .
My 2003 SC430 with only 36,000 miles has always been a second car for the original owner (a physician) and for me. My "first" car is now a 2012 Prius v. Love it! I've had the SC for four years and have been considering selling it. I just don't drive it that much. I have listed it on craigslist twice ($22,500 and then $25,000), and both times prospective buyers were ready to pull the trigger on it. I turned them down and took the car off the list. Intellectually, I have no need for it. Emotionally, I just could not bring myself to part with it.
What would Macbeth do? What would you do?

...if you took the car off the market both times, then that should be your answer. Right now my Sc is my "first" car, but hoping to make it the "second". I've owned alot of vehicles but this one just seems to have a hold of me. I've owned it for 4 yrs, but still take another look at it before I walk into the house & the thumbs up/compliments I get when I drive it, make me a proud owner !!! I know the Prius is a more practical vehicle for everyday use, but knowing that you have that SC at home for those special occasions or to be able to drop the top in nice weather, nothing can compare.Drive that Prius and enjoy it, but when you want to strut your stuff, pull out the SC !!!

I sold a '93 Saab Turbo convert which I loved because I just didn't need it. Bought another 2 years later because I missed it. My daughter now drives it and loves it. Answer your question?

barncat: Long, long ago I owned a well-used 1957 Prosche Speedster that I drove from Gainesville (FL) to Miami and back once a month for over two years (don't ask), and that I then sold for what I paid for it. The price? $1,875. I thought I was making out like a bandit. That tells you (1) how long ago it was, and (2) about my inability to predice the future! It was a great car, a joy to drive, and never gave me a problem, although the floor was pretty well rusted out. I share your dismay about having sold a classic Porsche. Perhaps that contributes to my indecision about selling the SC.
