Default insert key & twist!! not the answer I'm looking for!

Try to unlock the car in the remote did not work. I figured it was the battery so I grab the spare but that did not work either. I've never had a receiver go out before on any car. Has anybody heard of this happening or knows how to fix it? I would like to know what the proper way to fix it would be before hearing what the service department intends to do, as I have seen many members are more knowledgeable than the guys at service and they may appreciate the help!!!

O.K.....I'll ask the obvious question here... Was the car's battery dead?

And the second obvious question, did you try a different remote?

The third obvious question did the red led on the remote key fob light up when you pressed any button.

I have found that if I am on top of my car [ as in standing next to it ] And press any remote button it takes a bit of more time to actuate anything. When I am standing 20 feet away and press any button on the remote it just works faster. Could be that when I am to close I am swamping the radio signal from the remote to the car.

Proof of this is appearent when i try to do a luxlink remote start and remote top at once. If i am standing close to the car I cant seem to get my double press right because the remote key fob presses operates slower then if i stand away. I AM 8 out of 10 times succesfull away from the car and maybe 2 in 10 standing near the car. I am using the prior generation luxlink which has a tighter window of time for the double presses.

both keys did not activate remotely, car battery seems fine, started right up! since both keys did not work, I thought something with the receiver. wife called lexus, they called a dealer open late who said to call local dealer and make appointment. then this morning, it works fine! both remotes!
A loose wire perhaps...they told my wife receiver is in the door. but that doesn't sound right!

So the issue was the remote unlock not working, The car turned. The OP's post was a bit vague.

Replace the batteries, not expensive but eliminates this potential root cause of bad batteries (or soon bad).

both the car battery and batteries in the keys are good, but just on that one day, neither remote worked. the car started and ran fine. It has not been a problem since that day so I will assume it was a loose wire, condensation, maybe a lizard, possibly a gremlin. Obviously not a reoccurring problem on here, if it happens again, i guess we'll bring it in for service.
