Needing Help: G35 Coupe or SC430?
Hi guys, I'm not really happy with my SC300 anymore. I feel like its time to move on. I was looking at some G35 coupes at first, but most came up to be anywhere from $9k to $14k. Than I found some nice SC430s ranging in the same price range.
I know its like comparing apples to oranges but which one would you recommend or which would make a better daily? Pros and cons to both?
Thanks

We all bought SC430s, so we're probably all going to give you the same answer. But in my opinion, these are the advantages of each.
G35
Looks better stock.
Feels more like a sports car.
Possibly more/cheaper performance mods. Not sure, but there aren't many affordable options for the SC.
SC430
Looks better with a kit and wheels than the G35 looks with a kit and wheels.
Less common.
Convertible.
More reliable.
Much nicer interior, not even close in my opinion.
Also, the SC430 was roughly twice as expensive new. So if you can get them for around the same price, you're probably getting more for your money with the SC.
The one drawback with the SC is despite being very reliable if anything does go wrong, it's expensive to repair. I'm not sure what G35 repairs run.

These two issues are very evident from my comparison with a friend's G35. It's easy to take the SC430's fit and finish for granted until you sit in the Infiniti. Of course, you could pick up a new G35 for roughly half of a new SC430, so the deck is kinda stacked here and I can't pick on the Infiniti too hard. Decent car considering its MSRP and I always liked its looks. (I think a better comparo is the G37 convertible vs SC430, but then we are out of your price range.)

i was actually deciding between these 2 also before purchasing my car.. i decided with the sc430 because of .. less common.. better interior.. and cause its a lexus.. all my cars were lexus except one.. which was a nissan.. lexus never gave me any issues. i beat a g35 on the highway not too long ago if that helps.. haha.. also a 350z..

^^^ Agreed! Just beat the 350z last night. SC430 has lots of high end power. 350z passed me on a surprised attack for at least 20 cars length and we were on the toll road. I put my car in manual mode and hit the gas. I passed him when the car reached 100. The rest is history. I slowed down for him to catch up and started again on the even par at around 70. 3 horns and we started the race. He had no chance to even stay parallel. I beat him about a good 20 - 30 car length and that was it.

When I was looking for SC430, I also considered GS35/37. But at the end, it's not a Lexus.
I knew if I had bought the GS35/37, I will end up thinking what if and I should have.
Elimenate the "what if and I should have" and get the right car.
