exhaust cutout
have any of you guys ever done electric exhaust cutouts for your lexus? .. will it have a CEL? .. i was thinking about installing one for my sc430, but im not sure if it would have any issues. also does anyone have a picture of the stock factory exhaust from under the car? .. i would like to see if i have space for it under there..

I have thought about the same for my new custom exhaust. But i think there has to be some kind of whats it called.. Back pressure? For engine to work best. Or you will loose power and just have a loud noisy sound like the exhaust pipe broke before the muffler. Anyone else knows something about this?

i was looking at the sc300/400 forums.. theres a guy that put it on his sc300 and gained some power on the dyno.. im wondering how much we can gain if that is installed in our cars.

JeffTsai did it on his white GS...at one point he had the full stock exhaust behind the cutouts lol. He made something like 340rwhp with the cutouts closed going through the stock exhaust, as soon as he opened the cutouts he made like 450rwhp. That obviously was a long time ago when he was on low boost.

Anything new on this?
I will get the PPE headers installed next year and want a performance exhaust to match. I want the increased performance for tracks days but don't want to be too noisy for daily driving. Shouldn't the cutouts allow even better performance than using a performance exhaust given that everything is eliminated after the cats?
In VA we can't delete the mufler or run a straight pipe so perhaps the cutout is the best option to support some track days and daily driving most of the time. So how about I install cutouts and keep the OEM exhaust?
