Default Extended CPO warranty - WOW $$$$$

I am negotiating another CPO SC 430. My wife wants one for herself now.

I asked dealer about purchasing a 4 yr 100k CPO or 5 yr 100k CPO warrenty instead of the included 3 yr 100k CPO warranty it comes with. Only the selling dealer can sign you up for a longer than 3 year CPO warranty.

The quotes I got was $2,125 for the 4 yr and $2,425 for the 5 year. What a rip off.

I called Jerry Johnson at Mid West and he cannot sell anything unless the car is still within the original 4 yr/50 miles factory warranty.

I also aked for 2 additional non-remote keys and they quoted $150 each. These can be purchased from Sewell for $43 each, but they need to be programmed. The dealer needs to cut a Valet key and program it since it's missing. Programing 2 additional key that I requested will only take them an additional 5 minutes since they have to program the valet key anyway.

Dealers really try to part funds from you without mercy.

What do you think?

That price might not be too unreasonable considering the cost of one big electrical repair.

Most dealers will usually throw in an extra valet key for free when requested at the end of purchase negotiations. Figure the profit from a used SC430 sale should be enough to cover two extra keys.

What's odd is that cost for year 4 is $2,125 and cost for year 5 is only an additional $300. It does not make sense.

The odds of having one electrical repair in the 12 months of year 4 is minimal. I'm willing to take that risk.

You would think so. It might cost the dealer $80 or so. Purchase price negotiated is below kbb retail and well below KBB CPO price. It has new brakes front and rear, new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP tires and upgraded factory wheels. I've already locked it in with a small deposit. I'll know if it's a done deal at noon tomorrow when I go to pick it up.

Financing for a pre owed car has been approved via USAA at 2.69% For 5 years. At current interest rates doesn't make sense to pay cash any more.

I recently purchased a CPO RX350. I got an additional 3 years (total of 6 including the 3 from the CPO warranty) for $2,100.00. I'm in So. Cal.

I waked away from this CPO SC.

Its a shame as the price and mileage was right.

The paint was well below average condition. Lots of spider webbing, , Acid etched paint on the hood, scratches on the hood, chips and scuffs on both front and rear bumper covers and cracked plastic window on the Air Conditioner display.

The good news is the the car drove very well. The new Michelin PS2 run flats were quiet and smooth, not like the Dunlop run flats on my current SC.

Dealers have huge overhead, is understandable why they charge so much.

If you want it cheap, do it yourself, all those things can be done without going thru the dealer. Dealer is just convenient, convenience cost money.

Thats too much, message me or email me tomorrow (rjrios@mail.usf.edu) and i can look up who we got which was outside the factory one. I cant say this for a fact but I remember it being less, cant hurt to check. The great thing is I have both the oem warranty and an aftermarket one and I take both cars to Lexus of Tampa and the service is the same and im covered the same...on the consumer end- no difference.

You can also give Sewell your VIN and they can send you the key already cut. You'll just have to program the car to accept the new remote.
