Default New Baby

This past week I bought my 2002 SC430 that I have dreamed about for years. It is a beautiful car. I only has 50K miles. It has all the maintenance files, it is immaculate. I don't like the radio and have already bought the items from Beat-Sonic, new Pioneer radio, XM, and speakers. I am looking forward to getting it all installed. The run flats are fairly new, and I don't like them. I am thinking of taking them off, and replacing them. The 2 pics are taken in the garage.

Congrats on your purchase. You will love the SC. CL is the best forum ever! All of your questions about the car can be found here. Ditch the runflats and the smooth ride Lexus is known for will make you happy.

It is millennium silver on black. I live in Atlanta, and it has been raining since I bought the car. I haven't even had the top down. This is not my 1st convertible. I have owned an 08 BMW 330ci, 2 Miata's, and a Thunderbird. The SC430 has been my dream. I haven't thought beyond the things I have planned...I need to let it sink in with my wife first.

Once the rain stops, the first warm and sunny day, drop the top, take the wife out for lunch and she will love it. Meet up with CL moderator mandyfig in ATL and do a photoshoot.

Welcome! I'm in ATL too. I had my top down Thursday and today and tomorrow look promising. I'm about to replace the run flats with something else as well.

Juli, what are you going to put on yours? I have looked at several options, but I have not made a decision yet.

Welcome to CL! Mariettan here!

Been looking at replacing my RFT's. Tons of threads on tires. Personally I am torn between Michelin Pilots, Bridgestone and Conti's. Partial on the Michelins. Next Costco sale, I am hitting it. I have Pirelli Pzeros, noisy and bumpy.

Get working on your SC's!

Welcome to CL, Moondog.

I have a 2002 with 50k also, you will love the car and CL.

Mine was stock for my first four years and then I joined CL and the spending started!!!!

It is snowing here in London, so rain sounds good to me.

Best regards
Steve

Moondog, welcome to CL and the venerable SC430 ! There are quite a few CL members in the ATL area and while I am only a guest in the area, I hang out in Marietta (East Cobb) pretty often. You have one low mileage 2002 there. I think my 2005 has about 8k more on the clock than you. Hope to see you and your 02 around some time.

I have been out of town this week, but I got back in last night and I took my Baby (her name by the way) to get the Beat Sonic MVA 12-L, the Pioneer AVH P4400 and also XM radio installed... It is great! I really appreciate the info from the site!!!! In fact, when I took it in the guy told me there was nothing he could do. I told him to go to the Beat Sonic website...he did. When I left, he thanked me saying that he had turned a lot of SC430 people away because he couldn't do anything for them. When I got there, there were 4 people drooling over the car and the new install. They couldn't believe how good it looked. And, it does. It is really cool. My 26 year old son is even impressed! I guess all I would like to do in the short-term is get rid of the run-flats... Oh yea, it needs new door speakers (the large ones). I bought them, but the install guy ran out of time today. I plan to take it back.
