Thank you
Is there another company that makes red METAL brake caliper covers? I can’t get past the cheap look of MGP and the fake screws.

Default These MGP covers are a great option for a clean low maintenance look.

IDK 'bout another company that's producing metal/alloy covers. Yea you can delete the faux screws/bolts in the options section. You also have to take in to consideration of a sliding caliper design, which is wider thanx to a single piston & a caliper bracket vs a 4-6 piston caliper which is longer & slender. Yea you could just as well paint or have your calipers powder coated or swap them out for Powerstop ones & then your stuck w/ red. Sliding calipers are going to be more maintenance to keep clean as well. Stoptech offers a BBK that'd work but I'm not going that way w/ this car this time as what it is. I've had a few bbk's on varies vehicles & I've painted the calipers & a little while later, I'm striping the paint off them & lightly polishing the alloy front calipers & smoothing the cast iron rear calipers, which on a couple cars I used the oem rear calipers & made a bracket to extend the height for Wilwood 2 piece rotors,(as that was a cheaper solution) used w/ Baer's BBK for the front, which Baer offers a awesome 6 piston caliper & also offers a killer monoblock caliper & yea made in Phoenix.....So yea these alloy caliper covers are a great option if your looking for a clean look vs these sliding calipers w/ these pad clips. btw Baer does offer Eradiispeed rotors & the zinc coating last many many yrs even thou its a one piece rotor vs a 2 piece which you'd want w/ a bbk......

Up-Leveling our newly Purchased 2007 SC430. And on the list is painting Calipers and the Disc. Likely going to paint the disc VHT Cast Aluminum. Primer/Color/ Clear Coat. Paint the Calipers an alternate color, possibly VHT "Burnt Copper". The Car: Silver Spoke Wheels/ Silver Car/ Black Interior. Thoughts .... Anyone.... Anyone.... Buller...

You don't really mean that you're going to paint the actual disc itself, right?

Harold57- Glad you posed your reply the way you did. I would normally not even consider painting the actual surfaces that constitute the functional braking elements of the assembly. But, there is what appears to be knowledgeable YouTube video content of brake caliper & disc painting with VHT rattle can products. The indication is, that the pads will quickly do away with any paint between disc & pad. Thoughts??

Two things to keep in mind:
  • If you paint the discs and the pads are just going to remove it (first why paint it), what is that going to do to your stopping distance. Be sure to be in control of the need to stop the first few times, rather than having to make an emergency stop that could be thwarted by the paint
  • Could the burned paint damage the pads (and possibly the discs)?

Outside the box idea... Buy LS400 calipers/rotors and paint them however you like (not my pic, I have LS430 calipers, but that's a whole thing, the LS400's are plug and play).

I totally get if that's a bridge too far, I'm just throwing it out there since I was absolutely elated with my brake upgrade. I think it's one of the weak points of the car given it's weight.

Yea, If you want to deal w/ redoing the job later on & then don't forget 'bout the pad clips as well, its not like they're aluminum PBR calipers, which are easier to paint or just scuff & polish the caliper bodies......This caliper covers seem like a great way to clean up these calipers.....
