Question got a question about sc430

i have the chance to purchase a 2002 sc430 which has minor damage (prob 5-6k to fix and paint) It is the white pearl w/the camel leather interior. I would plan on keeping the sc for as long as i could, so trading it in would not be a problem, i can get this for about 40 on the road. the mileage is about 4k. bumpers were cracked, side skirts on one side cracked, small dent in door n fender..airbags are fine, a arms are messed up maybe, or subframe, which bodyman said that is not a big prob either way. but the vehicle is 62-64k brand new, and 2002 used are around 56k. so any insight, i have been looking at a 99 carerra or a newer escalade, but the lexus....you know how that goes. Any help i would appreicate it. b

Hey ... don't forget the cost of gender-change surgery. tfischer says only girls have light-colored cars.

(Yeah, fischer, I'm joking, too.)

Default No joking

If you can get this vehicle roadworthy for "40 large," that would be a very good deal indeed, especially for a car you intend to keep for quite a few years.

I must say that when most people get down to the actual purchase, not very many have both an SC430 and the Escalade on the short list. This shows a certain catholicity of taste which is rare these days. GM should be pleased to be in such good company.

And there are SOME guys out there with light colored cars (I suppose).

I don't know man. Depending on the damage I might be inclined to spend and extra $5,000 and get one from E-bay that hadn't been (or atleast we hope) in a accident. Hell Bob Saks Toyota here in Farmington Hills has a sliver on black with 2,230 miles and they only won't $46,000.00. What about another 9 months and I bet you they will be $40,000 to $47,000 anyway on the net. I checked E-bay today and seen some for $45-$50,000.

Talking reply

thank you for some honest comments, they had a dark blue sc being worked on and it was a hot looking color, but the white car with the camel leather was bad too...but its something i am looking at, the 46k silver car is a good buy, i never seen one that cheap to be honest. i need to shop around more.

Default Nope

". . . a certain catholicity of tastes . . ." is a part of a line from Edward Albee's play "Zoo Story," one of the few successful plays with only two characters ever written.

As an adjective, catholic means you appreciate a wide range of styles and have a broad and comprehensive range of interests. In a spearate meaning, the word Catholic can also refer to the Western Christian church generally, or the Roman Catholic church, but it is capatilized when used with this meaning.

All of this is apart from the fact that we all know driving the SC430 with the top down can be a religious experience.

Even an epiphinal moment.
