Is there a way to find out if your area has repeaters without trial and error?

Default not really

I suggest you call XM and/or Sirius and ask them for the count in your area.

BTW: As I understand it, Sirius doesn't need repeaters as much as XM does because of their method of transmission.

Check out www.clubxm.com for more info on Sirius and XM Satellite radio.

I've had Sirius in my winter car for almost a month now and there is one specific area I drive by every morning and it gives me a quick temporary drop out. I'm not sure why..... but it is only for a few seconds and ALWAYS the same exact spot.... funny thing is that going home on the same road in the opposite direction gives me drop-outs ONLY if I'm driving 40mph or slower.. go figure!

LOL!

Thumbs up Robbo's XM

Robbo,

Your Alpine looks awesome!!! Did it require much alteration of the ashtray area?? I was just wondering if a guy wanted to later take out the XM and sell the car if you could put back the ashtray like it was before? I'm using your pics to take to my installer so he can understand. Thanks for all the info!!!

Thanks. The installer had to cut/notch the left "lip" that helps holds the ashtray in place. I'm not sure if the head unit was pulled whether or not teh ash tray would stay in place.

I must say-- its pretty cool that I can catch the news 24/7 on CNN--- in my car!

Thanks for your reply!! I'm using your photos to take to my installer. I've looked a lot of places and your install was the best I've seen yet. Take care
