Is there a way for me to find out which dealers have which colors of the new car. I know I can call a dealer and they could trade, but it seems if I contact a dealer directly with the car they have in stock they are more willing to deal a bit.

A good dealer will not care about color. Unfortunately, not all dealers are the same. I went to several that told me that the color I wanted (I ask for different colors at each dealer) was vary vary hard to get and that they could not possibly get less than MSRP. The dealer I got the best price ($2000 less than the best price of the other dealers) from did not consider any color a problem. In fact the sales person showed me a print out of the percentages of cars made in each exterior and interior color combination shipped to each region.

Bottom-line, fine a good dealership with the right price and they will fine the color for you.
