I had my Cusco bar installed as well. By looking at reelbb's Carbing bar. I think his is a structurally better build bar. The Cusco is actually 3 pieces bolted together whereas the Carbing bar is welded all into 1 piece. By that I mean the bolt on is more likely to have "movement" from the 2 bolts that connect the 2 sides since they are not welded like the Carbing bar.
With that being said, If I had to ordered it again, I would have gone the Carbing way.

I have the toms racing bar and it is all welded and so far does not touch the engine cover. There is approx. 1/8 to a 1/4 clearance. No rubbing

MrBlister, that bar looks awesome! Those look like some heavy duty welds. Did you order it from the L-tuned parts website? Was there any CL discount or did you pay the full retail at $375? How long did it take to arrive?

I was very lucky to be able to buy it from a former CL member. He had paid at least $375.00 He sold it to me for $ 100.00. It was on his car for 3 months then he blew the engine.

I also have daizen front and rear anti sway bar kit. Again I was lucky I found two brand new sets on craigs list 5 years ago and bought both sets for 400.00 shipped. One set I installed the other set Sewel Lexus begged me for because they needed a set that the had already sold and daizen seemed to stop making them. Sewel has allways been very good to me so I sold them the second set for $ 380.00 shipped. So I lucked out with a brand new set on my car that in the end cost me $ 20.00. When daizen was selling them they were I think $ 675.00 a kit. I could not believe I found two sets on craigs list in new Hampshire.

I am interested in how the CL member blew his engine. The SC430 engine is pretty much bullet proof.

He had installed a NOS system and then a turbo. He ran it lean and blew holes in the pistons. After he blew the engine he had custom rods and pistons made and then after he was really deeply into the project he had a down turn in finances. The car was going to be repo and he started to sell off the aftermarket stuff. Before he was able to pull the big brake kit and carbon fiber custom hood the car got towed and he lost it all. I was able to get the toms bar weeks before the car was towed. I would of liked to have bought the big brake kit but even on the cheap it was expensive for me

Real shame very nice family guy. Fell on hard times tried to make it right by selling parts to keep making payments and then repo lost it all.

Default Finally, my turn

Sorry for the delay everyone, it's been a mess getting the car back after it has been sitting in a garage for almost 2 yrs. Finally, the engine cover is back on and I had a chance to mount the bar. 2 caveats everyone should know about the Carbing bar.

First, it does fit but the fuse box on the passenger's side is in the way and you'll have to loosen it, mount the bar, the tighten down the fuse box ontop of the bar. The first pic should help ( I'm havign problems uploading pics to and album ,can someone help). Secondly. as mentioned in a precious thread, the car will need to be jacked up about an inch to get the bar to fit. But it looks good, matches the injen intake well. Haven't tested the bar yet, will do tommorow and report back.
