New Look for Spring
Due to having a few too many problems with 20' rims on my sc430, I have been riding on the stock wheels for about a year. Recently, I just picked up a set of 18' volk rims and just got them put on this past weekend. Although it isn't quite the look I would normally go for, I think these rims look pretty good on the vehicle. I thought I'd share a few photos before and after:

The 18" seems too small and has the wrong offset for our cars. There are a lot of threads here about wheeels and offsets - see the table posted by Talwang. I am very happy with my 19" Forgestar wheels - could have gone with a bit more offset but the ride is great and the look close enough. Lighter than OEM too.

...could have been a combination of a few things. There are alot of members that are running 20's without any rubbing issues. Usually the biggest issue or complaint, is the ride being a little harsh, but I think a good set of coilovers or even going airride would solve that. I'm still debating going up to 20's myself. I'm currently running staggered 18's with 20(f) / 25(r) offsets, I have a good look & ride,so thats the only thing thats kept me from going to the 20's...but it's still on my mind

You can run 20's without an issue as long as you use the correct widths and offsets. Ride quality has more to do with the aspect ratio you need to run with the 20's rather than the suspension. Suspension has a little impact, but running a 25 or 30 series narrow tire is the main issue. 19's offer the best compromise since you can run a 35 series tire. I'm running 30 series tires but they are 265 front and 285 rear so I have plenty of sidewall to maintain ride quality while increasing handling.
