Nav System....I know this has been asked before....
#16
At the beginning, the SC had only three options, the Nav system, run-flats, and the rear spoiler (none of which I wanted, by the way, but all of which I got). According to my dealer, very very few cars (under 100) came in without one or another of the options. Soon the options were no longer options.
My guess is that with so few cars being built, it was difficult to determine just what combination of colors/options to build. Making the three options standard equipment allowed them to be concerned with only the exterior/interior colors.
Does anyone know how many 2002 SCs ended up in the US? When I first ordered mine, the dealer told me that there would be only 10,000.

The number I heard was 12,000, but remember that when the car went on sale April 15, 2001, it was called a 2002 model. That designation continued for almost 18 months, far longer than the normal run of a model year. This gets especially confusing as there is no real difference in the 2003 models. They are all the same, except for normal, minor updates and modifications which always get made during a production run.
I don't know if the 12,000 was for the calender year or the "model year," but either way I don't think it's a lot of cars, compared to the rest of the universe (or even to the rest of California).
