My dream car is now reality
Ever since my mom bought a 93 Lexus gs300 back in 1997, I always had an eye for the sc400 and when the sc430 was revealed in late 2000 internationally. My Jaw dropped.
After scrubbing tables and working long shifts, I saved up to buy my first car. A Toyota Yaris 2dr Hatch. It was a nice commuter car but I still dreamed of owning an sc430.
After 5 years of owning the Yaris and moving up my career in IT. I received gift from my parents which was a Seiko watch. Seiko's are known for being excellent Japanese watchmakers. Exactly 2 weeks later, I bought a Indigo Blue 2002 Sc430 with flawless Ecru interior to match the blue bezel of my watch. The original owner was an elderly lady that kept the car for 12 years and was always serviced at an authorized Lexus dealer. 112k miles w/ TB and water pump serviced at 70k miles.
7/17/13 was the day I have filled in my void of owning my dream car. I thank everyone here on Clublexus for sharing great stories and discussions of this wonderful magnificent car and will be looking forward to more content from this community.
Pictures will be posted soon!

Welcome to CL Scott and congrats on your purchase.
I also have a 2002 Indigo Ink Pearl SC with 52k miles, but in the UK it is called Montrose Blue. Indigo Ink Pearl is a much sexier name and I prefer to call mine that.
Had mine for seven years now and have loved every minute I have driven and played with it and plan to keep it until I drop.
Hope you get as much pleasure from yours, good luck.
Best regards
Steve

Congrats Scott! A year and a month ago I was able to get my dream car as well. It is a wonderful little car and I can't imagine driving anything else. I hope mine lasts a long time. Hope you weather is nice enough to drop that roof.

Congrats!
Welcome to SC ownership! I procured my 2006 SC a bit over a month ago and I love driving more each time I get behind the wheel. Excellent color choice with the blue. Can't wait to see the photos.
Congratulations on working hard and achieving a dream!

Scott,
You should be very proud of yourself. I didn't own one until last year when I turned 65. My wife made me buy her one also so we have 2 SC430s.
I remember about 50 years ago seeing a gray haired old man driving a Porsche and thinking life was unfair. By the time one could afford a great car one would be too old to really enjoy it. God should have made it so young guys get to drive great cars. Now I'm one of the old guys driving a great car, I'm sure some youngster is thinking life isn't fair as I drive by.
I've owned many cars, motorcycles and even airplanes that gave me joy driving or flying them. The Sc430 is at the top of the list. Today we went out to meet friends for dinner and loved the feeling of the wind blowing with the top down.
What a great country we live in.

I hear ya! I have wanted this car forever and have never been able to find one I could afford.
I'm 32 with a decent job but not overpaid by any means... I finally found one I could afford (with me putting a little work into it) and I couldn't be happier!
Congrats and keep the hard work up and the top down!
