Did you ever figure out what the problem was with the door?

One of 2 things. The board inside the unit grounded out and blew a couple of resistors, but before doing so I believe the buttons in the A/C panel are out as well.

wow, I'm sorry to hear that!, but I should have been more specific. I was asking HerbTarlek because he had a very similar situation in another thread recently. Maybe the same thing happened to him.

Not yet. Motor works on it's own...I could jump it directly.
I need to fool with it some more...otherwise I'm going to bypass and just put a 3 way switch in.
The car is in excellent condition, but with 146k miles it's never going to be a collector car....even if SC430's become collectors (which I doubt). It'll always be a reliable, fun convertible that runs like a rabbit though.

My Harbor Frought, poorly bought multimeter is questionable as it wouldn't show speaker resistance when I tried it...so I'm questing all it's results.

Where is should it be grounded at? Is there grounds beyond the plug ins? I tried it before putting it all back together tight. Would not having it screwed down be the issue?
