Default Wheel Spec misinformation FIGURED OUT.

****Correction: please ignore this, right size was provided and what ever info i have given in past is correct. sorry for confusion. Please scroll to bottom for a diagram if you need help figuring out how far your wheels would stand.
Hello guys,

Hope everyone had great holidays and Happy New Year to everyone. I have run into a little confusion and wanted to apologize to anyone that I may have misinformed.

2 Years back I went to megawheelz here in gta as I was new to mounting big wheels.. I told them I wanted 20" staggered set and it must match my fender line and im not interested in spacers. They gave me a magazine to look at what kind of wheels I was interested in and I found them: Donz Bonanno. So they took the car in the back to do measurements and tell me what I need.

I was told this setup would be perfect and would match my fender lines exact so I told them to place the order along with the correct tire size.
Front
20x8.5 (+20)
Rear
20x10 (+23)

I never measured the wheels as obviously I trust the shop. So yesterday i recieved a message from a member who needed help regarding offset, etc... So I decided to measure my wheels as they are sitting in the basement. This is what I found:

Front (approx):
20 x 9.6 (+18)

Rear (approx):
20 x 11 (+23)

my wheels are all an inch bigger then what i was told and even though im really lucky that it all works perfect Im still dissapointed that i was misinformed as it lead to me pass off wrong info to fellow members based on calculations from specs that were provided to me . Second, I was going to order more wheels myself online and wouldve screwed up bad .

Now I have went online and found that donz offers 20 x 11 but they dont offer 20 x 9.5 or 9.6.. so im really confused here? Obviously someone knew what they were doing but did not tell me correctly what they were doing and I don't believe Donz may have made a mistake which turned out to work perfectly with my car?

__________________________________________________________________________
anyhow for those who i may have mislead, i sincerely apologize... here are some calculations to help those that may need as my wheels match the fender line exactly without any spacers.

Front
20x 9.6 (24.4cm)

Half of wheel 9.6"/2 = 4.8" = 121.92 mm

Offset = 140 - 121.92 --> 18.08 mm

****
Distance from hub to fender (approx)
121.92 - 18.08 = 103.84 mm away

______________________________
Rear
20 x 11 (27.94 cm)

Half of wheel 11"/2 = 5.5" = 139.7 mm

Offset = 163 - 139.7 --> 23.3 mm

****
Distance from hub to fender (Approx)
139.7 - 23.3 = 116.4 mm away
___________________________________________________________________________

Now about the 20 x 9.6. donz doesnt make those as I have searched all the websites, does anyone know whats going on here? second, should i be speaking to this shop about the misinformation?

I couldnt find the easiest way to show but here:

Wheel width is measured from bead seat to bead seat. Stand the wheel up and measure the distance of the width where the tire would seal on either side of the inside of the rim. you will likely find your measurements there to be 8.5" and 10". Offset (in millimeters) is the measurement from the center of the wheel to the mounting surface. Backspacing is the distance from the outside of the wheel to the mounting surface. You likely have exactly what the shop said and the width and offset is likely stamped somewhere on the backside of the rim?

Thankyou for your reply my friend, I guess you learn something new everyday , im glad to know that wheel width is measured by the bead seat otherwise I have personally never checked my self to know. I wish they had told me because I asked for the lip to be matched exactly by fender line and now I see that it isnt included in the width. Im going to check the wheel itself to see if I can find the specs on it,

Thanks Mohrd, and sorry if anyone has been confused also from this.

Default Size provided by shop was correct, please disregard above.

Hello Mohrd,

you were correct, the shop did not misinform me, stupid of me but I found the specs at the back of the wheel.. thankyou for pointing out that wdith is measured from "bead seat to bead seat" as I had given many people info based on the specs I was given, glad to know I did not misinform anyone .. apologies to everyone, please disregard above.. Hope this diagram can help you understand how far your wheels would stick out.

The size of my wheels are:
Front: 20 x 8.5 (+20)
Rear : 20 x 10 (+23)

and just remember, the measure from lip to lip would be an inch more.. so half an inch each side if you literly measure with your hand.
