Replacing front seats with a more comfortable seat...
I have had my 2005 SC430 (black, saddle interior) for 4 years and I have to say overall an "outstanding car".... no complaints....except one: regardless of the variability in seat adjustment, I can not make the seats comfortable for me for trips longer than 45 minutes. The seats are in good shape, but for whatever reason the 'shape' of the seat does not really accommodate my shape. Is there a replacement from another Lexus that I could swap out for the front seats that came with the car? I realize there may be an issue regarding matching 'saddle' leathers...but if it provides comfort, I am want to look into it.
Thanks in advance, and I hope this is not blaspheme...I want to keep the car....but went and test-drove a new BMW 4 series convertible, a Mercedes, a Porsche, and these 'sport' cars all had more comfortable seats (for me anyway). Maybe that was because they were new.....
Thoughts? Suggestions?
thanks!
Bart

The biggest problem is that you would lose side airbag, which is built into the seat.
And even if you didn't mind not having the airbag, you'd probably trigger a fault sensor trying to run without one.
I'm assuming that you have used all the adjustments on the seat (including lumbar). and tried a zillion different combos. If so, then, sadly, maybe this car isn't a good fit for you.

Thank you.....I will check out the seats in other Lexus models. I received a large postcard from Lexus offering $75 just to take a test drive at my local dealership. While at the dealership I will also be taking a 'test drive' of all the various seats in both the IS250 and the IS350.
