2002 SC430 Won't Read OEM Upgrade Disc
I purchased a 100% genuine Upgrade disk 11.1 for my 2002 SC430 and the system is unable to read the new disk. I am 100% sure it is genuine, full jewel case, instructions and all. The problem is that the nave system just won't read the disc.
The strange thing is that the original disc that came with the car in 2002 works fine.
Any suggestions?
I have considered upgrading to the newest nav system that will fit in my 2002 but that looks like a $3-500 investment and I don't know if I want updgraded nave system that bad...

I did the same as Bacardi11 several years ago. It was a snap, just plug and play. Just remember you will likely need to change the zone on the device since it could come from a different part of the country. Denso is the manufacture used by Lexus for this part.

Guys you need to get a real Gen2-3 NAV disc, Sewell would be the place.
Unless you go for the whole GEN X upgrade (means the NAV hardware has to change, like what VVtiBob did), you need to keep up with the current GEN2-3 NAV Disc upgrade for our cars.

That means 12.1 or 13.1 NAV Upgrade Gen2-3.

I just purchased a Gen 4 Unit off eBay for $150 Shipped with a 2004 or 2005 disc. I know that I will eventually have to move up to a newer disc but Gen 4 discs seem to be cheaper and easier to find. Thanks for the advice.
