..not a problem at all. I do understand why some of the members might be a little hesitant about using a shock from another Lexus model, especially when the sites don't cross reference them.I definitely thought long & hard before purchasing the GS shocks. I still haven't taken the time to find that thread or the member that posted his findings about the shocks, but intend to do so, sometime this weekend. Also I'm located in Mesquite, that was Anion that posted he was in McKinney.I love driving my SC, so anytime or anywhere you would like to meet, just let me know

Shock or Strut?
Shock or strut?
When searching for which parts I need everyone is constantly interchanging the words shock and strut and I'm wondering if the 06SC has a strut where the spring is built into the mechanism or it actually has shocks with an attachable spring? I've seen the pictures of the strut assembly which shows a separate shock and spring.
I contacted lexus and they only gave me a shock part number 48510-24350
will this part work for the front end of an 06 SC?

thanks!

Replacing Front Shocks this weekend
I have purchased the shocks (KYB) and intend to do the swap this weekend.
Questions, concerns:
1. Do I need to support the strut assy from below before I remove?
2. As mentioned since I am just replacing shocks, I do not think it is necessary for an alignment, true?
3. Anything that I am missing?
4. Tips?
Thanks a lot in advance for your feedback, input and insults included!

I had the OEM KAYABA numbers posted earlier in this thread.

Thanks Mandyfig and Steve for the instruction and pictures. I replaced the front shocks couple weeks ago and this was a big help. I didn't have to separate the upper control arms to replace the shocks.
