Default Dead battery

Twice in the last year the car has been dead, each time I find that the trunk is cracked open. Is it possible that some other remote could be triggering it open? I guess I could just remove the trunk lite bulb, but wondering. Thanks

Sounds like you left the trunk open or inadvertently hit the remote trunk button. Those inside trunk bulbs will kill the battery for sure over time

I switched them to LEDs as they drain less power...just in case I inadvertently hit the remote button.

Having a time with some troubleshooting issues of the battery.... this may have been a cause...your input appreciated...will go to LED with your recommendation of the bulb type...will it require a mod ??? or is it a straight install?
Thanks

Changing the bulbs in the trunk to LEDs has two significant advantages. First, there is a lot more light back there when you open the trunk. Second, they draw so little power that even if you leave the trunk open all night, the draw on the system will probably not drain your battery. If I can think of a disadvantage of making this change, I'll let you know.
