Thanks to you all, just bought my first SC430!

Thanks for the heads up, 430keeper! I planned ahead for some maintenance costs. I think you're right that I paid more, but I also went with CarMax. So I knew I'd pay more. It was the only way I could buy my color combo + low miles without driving five states for a car. I'm impressed by people on here who will cross the country chasing a SC430!

I like the CarMax approach....especially when they will put the car on their carrier
and bring it to your location.....I have shipped a car before, and it is a hassle....not
cheap either. Plus, cars can get damaged during transfer....with Carmax, you can
inspect the car before taking delivery of it. Talk to your insurance company about
appraised value....because, if it were ever stolen or totaled you'd only get a check
for about $24000...potentially leaving you owing money on a car you no longer
had. Appraised values often get paid even if the blue book value is less.

I paid 27k for this beauty. The low mileage was important b/c I want to keep this thing for a decade as my daily driver. Back in July I considered one from the Lexus dealership -- 35k -- 2005 -- 20k miles. According to KBB, I should've only paid 22 k. But I think KBB is just wrong about the SC430. Anyway, I am crazy about the car and feel fine about the cost. Anybody think I paid too much? No, no -- don't tell me!
