Default Which Michelin Pilot Sport- reg vs AS

I am going to bite the bullet and buy the Michelins to replace my run-flats. I called the Lexus dealer and asked them to give me a bid on doing this. They told me $1600 to buy and mount the 4 tires. they asked me whether I wanted the regular or AS Pilot Sport tires. I live in Northern California and am leaning towards the regular tires. They said the AS would be a bit noisier. Any thoughts

I have the A/S, and they are not noisy at all. The other difference is that the A/S has a treadwear rating of 400 vs. 220 for the regular. Given the cost of the tire, I would go for the A/S.

$1600 is way too much for 4 tires mounted. I got my A/S's for a lil over $1000 if I remember correctly at a tire shop.

1. You want the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. The only noise I hear is from the compliments of sidewalk admirers...
2. Mine cost $1052, with Lexus mounting/balancing/reinstalling sensors at $145
Enjoy them.....you'll be driving a better car!!!!

I always thought that regular Pilot Sports were more money than the A/S Pilots but after a little looking around I see its not the case. Seeing as how I park my car in winter I could get away with the non A/S but its seems that I hear such good things about the A/S that I am leaning that way....

I just paid $2,029 for a set of 4 MP Sports (the regular ones) and 4 Mille Miglia Evo5 rims. They were delivered to my door completely mounted and balanced with the pressure sensors installed.

They came from Tire Rack.

If you pay a nickle more than I did, you're nuts,

Lexus OVER charges !!!

Hey Ed !

I haven't even taken the photos yet. My car hasn't seen the light of day in almost 6 weeks. I pulled it out of the garage back in the beginning of Feb..........it saw it's shadow and rolled back in !
