Front Brake Pads Replacement
#16
OBP, as I put in less than 2K miles per year, hence I do not experience the overheating etc.. And I am really not riding on my brakes. Cruising is all I do. No vibration when applying the brakes.
However I know that when I need stopping power, it is there with the ceramic pads. Less dust compared to the rears which I still have OEM Toyota pads.

I am not sure I understand. I have over 100K miles on my SC and am on the third set of front brake pads. I have used nothing but OEM fresh from the Toyota box from Sewell. I have never had any brake dust and I used ceramics on both an ES and RX i owned in the past. So, I do have a reference. Not sure why you are getting brake dust with OEM pads.
Though I think Mandy's case is quite telling - less or minimal brake dust on front with ceramics and more dust on rear with OEM pads.

I was not trying to sound like some overly patriotic grampa. For the last 15 years or so, most brake rotors sold in the USA have been coming from low cost-low quality Chinese factories. Of course the original Lexus parts might be made in Asia, but more than likely made in Japan where the quality is higher. Brembo has a large number of American manufacturing plants and makes a high quality product.
