One of the bad parts of living in Washington, DC is that we get a lot of tourists. I was completely stopped in rush hour traffic when some guy with a Chinese passport (no drivers license) rear ended me.
The crash itself didn't feel bad at all (thanks to SC safety engineering) but knocked the frame. I drove it until winter, then left it at my preferred body shop. Six weeks later I picked it up and Habeous immediately noticed that the gaps weren't quite right. Took it to the dealer's body shop and it turns out the first repair was awful. The original shop even glued the bumper to make it look like it fit.
So now another six weeks are going by, but the repair is being done right. Hertz is paying for the first repair; the original body shop manager went out to look at the car and has agreed to pay 100% of the second repair. Each repair was about $5,000.
Next I'll be going after Hertz for diminution of value.

I'm not sure of the offset Talwang originally ordered. The tires are Continental DSW, 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear (STRETCHED), but they are a little too noisy for my taste. I'm going to be swapping them out on the next tire change.

You are lucky. That's one of the best sorted out car and best looking. I never thought he will part with it, but I guessit will end sometime. What's he up to then, no wonder we haven't heard from him for a while. Did you mortgage your house to get his car?

Yeah, my kneepads got a good workout asking for the car .... Just joking, we're actually related by marriage so he ended up giving me the car to shut me up. He's currently in Taiwan pursuing other interest and couldn't take it with him. Although I'm sure he tried....
The bodykit and stance on the car is almost perfect. It still rubs upfront with the crappy roads we have in Houston. But for the price, I'm definitely not complaining.

love to see that car, next time I go to Houston maybe I'll let you know to see if we could meet up?.
Try a set of Michelin Pilot, they should be quieter than Contis.
