New sc430 owner
#46
Hi All, new member here… I purchased my first Lexus 2 weeks ago…2005 SC430. I work at a large car dealership and this was traded in on Thursday evening, I grabbed it before 6am on Friday! One owner car, spent its whole life in North Carolina, where it will remain. The car had 18,165 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. Absolutely Red exterior, Ecru interior with Light Golden Birdseye Maple wood trim, and Mark Levinson sound system. Options included were all season run flats and rear spoiler. I purchased it for $20k. This car was obviously cared for by the previous owner, but needed a little love, I’ve already done a full paint correction (lots of car wash swirls), I have not detailed the interior yet, but it is pristine. The previous owner did not bring in any maintenance records when they traded it in, and we are not allowed to contact them. The car is going to my mechanic tomorrow for new timing belt, water pump, Michelin tires (no run flats) and tpms. Future plans include spare tire, window tint and wheels.

Bobby, you stole that thing! I paid 29K for my 2008 with just under 34k miles April of 2022. Only leg up I have on you is the newer "non-pie plate" wheels, LED taillights, 6-speed auto, lighted door sills, and factory Bluetooth

Wow! The paint just pops! It looks sooo good. I paid $24k for a 2007 with 60k miles in June of '21. Mine came with winter tires mounted on pie plates, summer tires mounted on new rims, radio swap out to Pioneer with bluetooth and apple car play and timing belt changed. Best purchase I have ever made.

Hello Folks,
New to this forum. Long time lexus owner including RX450h, Gs450H, IS250, IS300h and now as my project car a 2001 SC430!
I figured I should join since ive been researching the SC430 using your site.
My SC430 has 107,000 miles and is in reasonable condition for its age. It needs a full suspension refresh, engine service including timing belt, VV5 solenoids and a gearbox and diff flush.
I'm based in Ireland 🇮🇪.
cheers

I suggest a drain and fill on the tranny and diff...no flushing necessary. If you disconnect your tranny cooler supply line at the radiator, you can start the engine and pump out a gallon of ATF. Then, you can use a fluid transfer pump to pump a gallon of fresh ATF back into the return line with the engine off. This method replaces about half the fluid, so you are less likely to have any shifting issues as you might with a flush and/or 100% fluid replacement.

Or you could drop the pan and change the filter at the sametime and change a larger volume of fluid.
