New sc430 owner
Hi there,
I've been a long time admirer of the sc430 so today I finally pulled the gun and bought my 2002 silver SC with the black interior and rose wood. 125k miles on it. Runs fantastic previous owner has all the receipts for the services done and I got it for a steal at 10,000. I'm very pleased with myself and I'm happy to be apart of this new community.
Regards,
Joe

the more i drive it the more i love it. The 3UZFE is truly a great engine and with the added refinement of lexus engineering its like a hyper drive. Its docile when it wants to be and a beast when you mash the fun pedal. The stock brakes are a bit inadequate for such a heavy car but overall im smitten!
13 year old car, not a squeak, not a rattle, and the engine pulls like new. Go figure!

Yes, these are our little secret. Lexus/Toyota put a great engine in there. A refined small-block aluminum V8 in a rear-drive layout that is remarkably resilient. Remember, this car was the Lexus flagship when it came out, with an attempt to present a less stodgy appearance to the company (the LS series that established the marque, though great, was extremely low on 'sexiness' - the SC430 went for all the curviness it could). Update the electronics and this car isn't out of place in 2015.

New to the forum, new to Lexus. My wife and I picked up a 2007 sc430 this week. Just looking for a fun, reliable convertible hard top. As you all know, not many to chose from and the Lexus seems to be the best of all of them (despite the boys at Top Gear). I've been driving a 1964 Mercury Comet Convertible for years and my wife wanted a drop top of her own that was a little more "luxurious"
Already fixed the gunked up cup holders that wouldn't open due to years of spilled drinks and lose change. Reviewing the forum for best options on iPhone/Stereo and Navigation. Radio door doesn't open/close. Haven't found a thread yet that addresses most common causes for that (might be I don't know the keyword for stereo cover). This one has 100k miles but doesn't act like it. Had the timing belt changed in the 80k's. Pretty much plan to drive it everyday here in Indianapolis where there isn't much snow and the roads are pretty flat.

Welcome to the club. Congrats on your new SC. Here is some info for the radio door:

Most likely is the cable unplugged.

Thanks GmanSC. The cable was in fact unplugged when I got it, but I saw that and reconnected it. Still no joy. I took that switch apart and it's pretty simple and the solder traces all looked good. I see a little LED in there which I assume would power on if the dash lights were on. It did not appear to be lit, which makes me think there is no power to the switch. I don't have a multi-meter at the moment to check that. The door moves fluidly manually so I don't think its bound up or anything. PO did install a sat radio kit and spliced into the power harness for that. Doesn't appear that would impact the power to the door, but I don't have that diagram yet either. Everything else about the radio works. This forum looks to have lots of answers and is not hostile like some (which is a pleasant change).

Yes, the light in the button should light up when the lights are on, unless it is burned out or the fuse is blown (or the cable disconnected). Mine is currently blown out.
The door not working could be several things: disconnected switch (already fixed), blown fuse (unlikely since radio works, though there is more than 1 fuse for the sound system), off the tracks (unlikely since you said that it moves manually fine) or the cable could have jumped the guide.
