BGW, you just have more humidity saturated air there in Florida than we (texsexlex & I) do here in north Texas. (South coastal Texas is another matter.)

HaHa, you are so right Harold!!! ;-)
Left her in the garage today and drove the Trans Am, filled her up and only 17mpg, now that is a hog! ;-)
They are both so fun to drive and perform differently in their own way, the SC has the better turning but the T/A has the straight line acceleration. Granted 4.3 vs. 5.7, HUGE difference, just interesting how the SC is rated at 300hp and the T/A 305hp, but the T/A...putting it nicely walks away very fast from the SC.
Had a friend drive the SC and I drove my T/A, did three runs at different starting speeds, all the same result...

Even with all that said, the SC gets more attention from me...I think it has to do with the fascination of the technology in this car vs. the GM product. The SC is a very high tech and cool car...add on rare car...not many out there...

Bgw, your TA's hp may be rated on a different rating method than the SC430. I've forgotten when (2006 maybe?) but the method for measuring hp on the SC changed at some point, lowering the hp rating to 270hp (IIRC). Same engine, same transmission, etc, but the "newer" SCs are rated lower in hp because of that.

Yes Harold, you are correct, they changed the standard but my T/A is a 2000 and my SC is a 2002,

It's all in the torque. I bet the 5.7 has quite a bit more than the 4.3.

Default Bridgestone DriveGuard Run-Flats 245/40 R18 for SC430 2006

The 2006 SC430 now has about 2,000 more miles on it and these run-flat tires ride as smooth as though they were not run-flats. Wear & tear has been minimal.
I have not yet rotated the tires; but I've monitored and kept up the air-pressure.
If you're looking to replace your run-flats, please do yourself a favor and consider these.
Hello Again! Another year has passed. I've only put on another 1200 miles on the SC with the Bridgestone Driveguards.
Best TIRE CHOICE made. The only action I've taken on the tires themselves is adding some air. They've not be rotated yet.
If you are looking to replace your existing SC 430 tires, these are outstanding.
Greetings from San Diego, California.
