Scheduled an appointment with local dealer but decided to cancel after speaking with service advisor and getting vague responses to my questions. Don't think they've done many/any. Has always been a SoCal vehicle so I'll take my chances at this time.

The good Techs are able to replace the airbag trigger by getting underneath without the whole dash being take out. For sure this is not what Lexus recommends. However some dealers have been able to find ways which is a win-win, no dash comes off. Less risk.
Honda-Acura takes the big hit with the recall. Half of what they produced have the Takata suspect lots. Ouch. It will take years before they sort this out. Like the GM ignition switch recall, this too will go down in history surpassing the FORD-FIRESTONE debacle.
