THANKS to all VETERANS
47 years ago today I was a short timer getting ready to return to the "world," counting the days to my DEROS (Days Of Expected Return from OverSeas)
Memorial Day brings back memories, some good and some not so good. Regardless I am proud that I served.
I want to thank all my brothers and sisters here who served and who are currently serving.
Shortly after I returned from Vietnam I was at a restaurant with my soon to be wife. An older gent came up and asked if I was in the military, probably because of my haircut. When I said yes, he said Thank You for your service and shook my hand. When I went to pay the check the waitress told me that my bill had been paid for by that gentleman. I will never forget how good that felt.
I have paid it forward dozens of times, picking up checks for members of military at airports and restaurants. Every time when I do this I get teary eyed and tell them the story that I'm paying it forward.
Do something nice for a veteran today, even if you just say a simple thank you.

Thank you to all who served us and the country especially those who continually to live by the oath they took... that is being a good and honest citizen of our country.
It is just a pity to see that not all our veterans are doing good in life after having served the country. My prayers and best wishes for them.

FLYCT, thanks for your service! I too am a vet. I served 28 years in the Army. My dad was a 30 year Navy guy, Pearl Harbor Vet. You and I both have friends who went and didn't come back. Today I paused a moment to Thank God for them and their sacrifice. Last week I was traveling with my job and was at Ronald Regan Airport. An honor flight came through with vets from the Korean and Vietnam Wars. They announced on the intercom that this flight was loading....everyone stood up and applauded. One gentleman stood there and did a 360 looking around, and seemed amazed that folks were applauding. Of course I had tears in my eyes as did many...

Thank you to all the vets for your service. You allow us, along with the grace of God, to have the freedom that we do today here.

I have no cool stories but I sure enjoyed my 21yrs in the U.S. Air Force. I traveled the world and only remember the good times.
But the most important thing is this, Some Gave All, while All Gave Some!
POWs, You Are Not Forgotten!
