I am hoping someone can recommend an independent mechanic / repair shop near Downey CA. I own a 2002 SC-430 with 60,000 miles and have not been pleases with the prices at the local Lexus dealer. Also not sure I can trust them...they say my motor mounts need to be replaced. Anybody have a good mechanic they trust in my area?

Sorry but I don't have a recommendations since I'm in Texas but motor mounts going out on a 2002 model year is not unusual. When it comes to rubber (or rubber-like) items, be it hoses, belts, tires or isolators, time (and environment) is as much of a factor as mileage, sometimes more.
BTW, welcome to the forum.

Thanks Harold57...I was happy to find a low-mileage SC-430 and hope to maintain it for a long time to come. Good info about the rubber parts....this is actually the first to "fail" since I bought it and want to find someone I can trust who can confirm the "diagnosis" and replace at a fair price with good quality. Hopefully someone local will respond with a recommendation so I won't have to open my wallet to the dealer!
