new to the sc430 family!
Proud new owner of a 2002 red sc430 140k miles
adding another lexus to the family with my isf and 5speed manual sc300!
Just picked it up and drove it back home from Las Vegas to central Cali.. btw it passed the test. a long and boring 9 hour drive in heat, humidity, storms this past weekend, all the way back home. I flew out of Monterey to Las Vegas lol
I was keeping an eye out for a good and affordable 430 for about two years. first two opportunities i was too slow and others bought it before i can get the money. it wasnt the color that i want but couldnt pass up on the price......5k!!!!! haha
Yup 5k everything checked out everything working clean title. And again it already passed the road test drive from LV to Central Cali in harsh conditions.
It does need a little TLC but all minor stuff like the nav door not working and a **** missing from the driver seat lumbar control ect. Im taking it to my mechanic to check out everything that needs changing/fixing and changing all fluids ect.
The red paint is not perfect (7.5/100) but im planning on painting it anyway in the near future. It needs coilovers cus i test fitted my bbs lms and they sit like a monster truck, so coilovers before paint for sure. cant wait to start working on this beauty

Newbie from Vegas buys first Lexus
Hi members!
I am a newbie to the forum and am very grateful to learn a lot from all of you. I just bought my very first Lexus last week – what's so funny is that I was out shopping for an SUV because I am a musician and need room to carry my keyboard and my equipment. But when I saw this 2004 Lexus SC 430, it was love at first sight and I just had to have it! So I pulled out all my gear out of my old Mercury Grand Marquis and voilà! My keyboard fits in that tiny backseat! So unlike many of you SC430 owners, the backseat of mine will probably be the trunk from now on. But that's OK – it's a lot hipper than the grandpa car I used to drive. I learned from one of your threads the trick of removing the plastic tray that holds the jack and lug wrench and using a thin donut spare placed at a 45° angle so that I can use what little trunk space there is. I ordered a donut spare for my car and can't wait to try this little trick I learned from the forum. If there are any members from the Las Vegas area I would be delighted to hear from you so we can share ideas of how to maintain these beautiful cars without breaking the bank!

Quick question as I am also a relative newbie 2002 SC 430. The cabin feels like there is heat coming from under the dash. The temp dial shows normal. Is this heat something that is normal or do I need to have this checked out? Thanks for any help in advance.
