Default 2010 Lexus SC430 "Non-Linear" Acceleration Correction

Hi All,

As I have experienced hesitation on acceleration from a stop, I found a TSB # L-SB-0154-10, that addresses this condition for the 2010 SC430. It was issued in 12/1/2010. I am not sure if it would apply to any other years. The TSB entails re-flashing he PCM with updated software. Oh modern technology, how sweet it is!

Hey Tom,
Can you provide more information?
I believe most SCs take off a little slow, it helps to have the tranny switch in the power mode and the VSC switch to off...

This driveability condition occurs even with ECT switch in power mode. Check with dealer to see if this TSB applies to 2002.

This is what I found and it does not seem to have anything to do with what you posted.

vehicles may exhibit an acceleration after a stop while driving under low rpms and a high load.

BGW,

You have misunderstood the TSB. The words " Non-Linear" acceleration means " Hesitation ON acceleration from a stop. I had the TSB done at the dealer today and the car has ALL of its power back on acceleration from a stop as well as better acceleration from second to third gear.

Wish you well.

Man, you are correct and I was wrong! I am so glad the TSB corrected the issue!

Thank you for sharing the TSB with the group.

BTW, did Lexus charge you for the service and if so, would you let us know how much? That way, others will know.

Happy Driving!

It sounds like it is time to call the service folks and ask if this applies to the older SC430s also! That would be sweet!

BTW, where did you find TSB LSB 154-10. The ones that keep coming up in my searches say the same thing that Bgw found earlier.

Hi All,

1. The TSB was performed at "No charge" under 96 month/80,0000 emission warranty. The TSB says it is applicable to 2010 models but would not hurt to ask dealer if it could apply to earlier models. TSB L-SB-0154-10.

2. I have Toyota/Lexus Service Information Website access as a former Toyota T-Ten Instructor.

Best to all,

Tom

Can you post the TSB (or a picture of it) on this thread?
