Default Anyone know the best car lift?

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a car lift for my home garage.. Was interested in a 2 post mini hoist earlier but looks like it'll take up too much room also seem like there all a minimum of 130" inch width (have to be drilled in as well).. .. there was one however that says 105-125" width but not sure if that means I can bring it close together to 105 inch".. not sure?

http://www.princessauto.com/en/detai...ft/A-p8275612e

soo maybe a smaller lift is a better idea?
I started looking at scissor or scissor pad lifts but don't know much about them. Biggest thing for me is having the most clearance under .. I don't want the lift blocking me from anything (that's why hoists are awesome )

here are 3 brands I saw not sure which one are good..

1) Atlas TD-6MR Portable Mid Rise 2) Dannmar Cadet 6000XL, Mid-rise 3) BendPak MD-6XP

I would love to spend around or less then 2k (cad) on it if possible and have something which would atleast let me sit on a stool instead of on the ground lol (back problems)

but yeah not sure which give more room.. for example if you look at pics below the pad one
seems to give more room specially in middle (seems safer to as its far apart so more stable maybe?.. like you can walk in between there.. but looks like they cost more..

Height seems to be more but looks like it gets in the way in middle? and is narrow so less stability?

BendPak seems to be the choice of the pros. I believe it's more expensive.

We just bought one, intended to be portable to take to the track but it's too big/heavy.

I'll get brand, some details and pros/cons from my wife (her track car, her lift).

I'd go with BendPak. I don't trust 2 post lifts.....a little scary for me, but that's just my opinion. The low rise 2 post lifts for home use don't seem to be as safe as the scissor lifts, but the scissor limits your access to the center undersides. I was contemplating getting a four post with the optional front and rear jacks to get the wheels off the lift. This seems to be the safest and most versatile setup.

Link to ours: http://ezcarlift.com/, may not get high enough for your stool goal (depending on how tall you are and how low the stool is )

Am very happy with it. Easy access from sides which are an issue with scissor style. It's easy to lower/raise without the hoses and leaks of a hydraulic system. It is rock solid at max as well as lower heights. I think it is much safer and feel good about the transmisison/clutch job I'm about to start. Very happy with it and would recommend to anyone looking for a lift without the overhead clearance of a proper 2 post lift.

I don't think I trust 2 post lifts either, plus they would have to be installed very well and will most likely be permanent. I actually like the idea of being able to move the portable ones around!

oh I see I didn't think about that but it looks like that would probably cost you like 5k

thanks

thanks for the link Dave, looks great actually, but I feel like its best if you can lay under that and unfortunately will be a problem for me but that price is good and looks super safe with plenty of space

These ones are not to far apart in price but again that center is blocked and they don't look as safe but do provide a great height..

Scissor closed center mid rise lifts

Open center mid rise lift (this one seems to be the winner but that price)

Im not sure of any other brands but I guess maybe I should see them in person also
