I am happy that my headlights are looking new still. They were replaced with brand new ones, years ago when a lady hit me head on. I sent my SC to the most expensive repair shop in town, turned out great!
I just got my car out of my local "shop". I had a broken antenna (car wash) and bought a replacement on Amazon.
My rear trunk lifts had also lost their "gas" a while back and found a cheap replacement on Amazon. Nice to not have the rear trunk fall and hit me in the head when I'm putting groceries/luggage in/out of the trunk, but I'm a bit disappointed with the end-result as when I "pop the trunk" it still doesn't lift up by itself - so I have to "pry" it open by hand a bit to lift it. Any ideas as to an easy fix?
New owner of an SC430. This seems like a great group of people and so glad to join and share - this amazing car had been sitting under a carport for 10 years, undriven. Only 59,000 miles. Had the Lexus dealer check it out - just a battery and alternator replacement. Paint was wet-sanded, added ceramic window tint, new OEM Tourmaline wheels, steam cleaned engine and undercarriage, dents, bumper rash and pits all removed, calipers painted black, new Mark Levinson 6X9 speakers, and now it is basically showroom again. Despite the cost, I felt it was a privilege to get it back out on the road, and I could not be more proud to drive it. Now for the tough part - how to keep it looking like this forever! First time posting, so hopefully all the images show up.

I believe the trunk lid was not designed to lift itself. It likely operates the way it does to work with the auto-top.
^^ yea I think so too, it just slightly pops on mine then you gotta lift it by hand a bit till the gas shocks kick in, my shocks work fine and that's how it is of mine. I took the car out first time this year and dropped the top last night, the car feels so special, everything is so nicely put together and quiet. And I was just out from driving an AMG and EV.

Get a clear wrap installed on the front bumper will go a long way to keeping it from being chipped up by rocks.

I think you're right (and if yours is working, I guess you'd know) except that I'm pretty sure it's supposed to at least pop up an inch or two and it seems like it's only popping open less than an inch, so I still have to uncomfortably pry my fingers under it to grab it. I'm hoping someone may have an idea as to what I might need to do to tweak that.
Mine works like most front hood releases. It simply pops enough to get one's fingers under it. It's not a problem at all. My trunk wasn't staying up when I first bought the car used, so I replaced the struts and it stays up fine now.
Thanks Paul - have been thinking about that and am glad you confirmed. I do not want to be sanding and painting chips. Was amazed at how many were on the hood. Looked like it had been driven through a rock storm.
Thank you, that’s great to hear. Was tempted to grab the first set of wheels I could find, but am glad I waited. Originals are now boxed up in the garage. That white ecru is one classy combination in my opinion. Saddle was a lot to take in at first but I think that’s what they were going for.
I let my silver SC430 stay near another silver SC430 for a couple miles. Nice chance to admire a twin.
We don't get to look at our own SC while driving. So, this was a treat.
After that, a mundane stop at O'Reilly to pick up a couple bottles of windshield wiper and DOT3 brake fluids.
Time to bleed the brakes and mount summer wheels next week
Replaced every component in the front suspension except for the rotors, calipers and pads today. Was original circa 2004 with 118k. Nothing survived except for a few bolts - LOL. The car rides so much nicer now - instant gratification after 6 hours of beating bolts.
I need to figure out how to reset the VSC / ABS system after pulling the wheel speed sensors. Instrument cluster is lit up like a Christmas tree. Only pulled them out so I could extract the front yoke.
