It connects only to the head unit. Once connected, it adds another CD player to the head unit. Press CD button and the head display swaps between CD and CD1. The CD1 head display does not show text so you will not see song titles or artists. The steering wheel controls does work to skip songs. My BT connects incredibly fast to the VAIS tech unit. It seems within a few seconds after starting the car, the music starts playing. CD1 is the only function I use now. It's great.

But you mentioned that in adding the SL3B, you removed the "I agree" screen, correct? I don't understand that. If you only added the unit to the head unit, seems odd. But additionally, I think the SL3B only works in 2005+ models, right?

Yes, 2005 and later. I'm assuming that if the OP upgrades to a Gen 4 he'll be okay, but not sure. Here's the programming step from the VAIS Technology Owners Manual.

I sure like what you have done with the radio replacement. Would you be willing to create a new thread and provide more details to include more pictures of the mod?

I am sure that I read the post about this. Someone in this forum, replaced the ML radio for the DVD, grounded pin 14 (?) so he can play the DVD on the move. I saw the video he created, watching the DVD when the car in motion.

If you are owner or this thread or this mod, please post the link so some of us can benefit from it.

Thanks Bgw. So the mod did not disable the speed sensor. What else can we try?

of all the lights on my car that I want to be bright - license plate illumination is a no no
why would you want to make it easier for cops to identify you?

There are two ways to look at that: one is being identified by others (like you state) and the other is to have your car easily identifiable if it is stolen.

on top of that it makes your car more visible at night. Additional safety if you might

besides, I have nothing to hide from the police

Had my side mirrors swapped out today for some from a donor vehicle. The mirrors on mine would go left/right but not up/down. These are working fine, so that was great.

I also had one of the chrome tipped turn signal bulbs on the tail light from my +06 conversion burn out, so I got those replaced with regular amber ones.

Finally, I dropped her off at the body shop today to get the previous owner's wear and tear removed. She has TONS on rock chips - literally at least 50 - on the hood and front fender, and a bad scrape down the driver side from door to back wheel well. So she is getting the front bumper, hood, and driver side all cleaned up. So I am without my baby until 9/26 but can't wait to see her after her she is done.

they were left over from a pack of lights I bought. The car was up on the lift when I swapped out the front sway bar so I decided to reach up and swap them out.
