Default What Did You doto Your SC430 Today

Replaced the old burned up Autolite sparkplugs that the previous owner put in with NGK iridium.178000 miles. Replaced the power steering hose that goes from the reservoir to the pump. It was leaking. Bad place for a leak, right over the alternator. Hopefully, I caught it before it ruined the alternator. This morning it gets a bath.

A little maintenance before the long winter nap. Replaced the blue TPMS sensor ( love that Techstream ) and replaced the Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 sensor due to frequent Check Engine lights with a P0133 code ( Bank 1 Sensor 1 Slow Response, another thanks to Techstream ). Should be all set for next spring.

Installed the back up camera using NavTool today. This is the last mod for my SC.

I will stay with ML unit, with the cassette deck and monster cassette adapter, since it serves my purpose.

Took about 4 hours. Not that bad. Three was a DIY in PDF with photos in the club. Search for it. The only different thing I did was I tab the trigger (blue wire) 12V from the back up light socket and the 12V for the Navtool from the relay socket in the fuse box. I did not use the DIY since the installation was straight forward, but you might find it helpful.

Here is how BGW wired in the power for the backup camera without cutting any wires.

Thanks GmanSC. I appreciate the help. I think this will be my winter garage mod this year.

Default First project on my "new" 2007 SC

One of hardest things to get used to in my new 2007 SC is its lack of 21st century features, like a backup cam. So the first thing I did this weekend was adding a rearview cam. I used Naviks and this item from Amazon. It turns out like a factory install and integrated nav feature. It pops onto nav screen when put in reverse gear. It took me about four hours too, but if I had to do it again it would probably be about an hour.

What part of CA are you in? Any way I could bribe you to do mine for a couple hundred bucks?

I am in Irvine. I think you should try to DIY for more fun. . This forum, and members like me can always help you out.

Ha, ha! I am a middle aged woman that can fill the gas tank and drive it, that is the extent of my DIY ability (doesn't mean other gals can't, just not in my skill set.)! If you want to make a couple hundred bucks, I would happily drive to Irvine.

That being said, I may try to see if Al and Ed's will do it. Might google to see other options for install in SoCal too.

Default Brakes

Finally got around to installing the Brembo rotors and brake pads I bought a few months ago. New brakes are so nice!

An interesting side note: the original wheels with OEM TPMS sensors were stored in my garage for nearly two years as I had other wheel/tire combos installed. I just ignored the TPMS warning light during that time. Put the original wheels back on after the brake job and the TPMS light went right out like no big deal. I'm pretty sure these sensors are the originals from 2006.
