Says that but I think its a typo (LS430 was not available through 2010 but SC was). If you filter by SC430 with spoiler it is one of the “parts that fit your vehicle”
Probably going to take her out before it rains and have my local car stereo look at a few things. The antenna doesn't go all the way down, also the steering wheel controls don't appear to have been set up when they added an aftermarket stereo. Probably check out my in-dash options as well while I am there.
I just had my ICE system looked at and the idiot who had the car before did NOT use a Beat-Sonic so the display won't come up. Luckily my place new exactly what the problem is so we are going to fix that issue and also upgrade the stereo next week. Brilliant move not using the Beat-Sonic. The backup camera displays on the nav screen?
Thanks! This was the first time I've ever paid a professional to do a full detail for as long as I've been driving. I always thought I did a dang good job on my own (pats self on back ) but now know what the next level is like. This is something I'll have done maybe once or twice a year to keep it in top shape, along with doing proper washing techniques myself.
This "paint correction" term was new to me when I did my research on how to properly care for car exteriors. I had recently bought an inexpensive DA random orbital polisher, read some articles and watched quite a few Youtube videos on detailing techniques, bought some various products, and tried to do this myself to the SC. Some areas came out good, others not so good - and probably less than half of the car saw the orbital as I did do quite a bit by hand. So a few days later I went to the detail shop* to show them my results and asked if they could make significant improvements to what I had accomplished. As you can see from the pictures they did a great job.
The cost for the full exterior was reasonable at $250 (hopefully I'm not violating any forum rules by discussing), which is listed on their printed materials. Larger vehicles cost a bit more, and they have other levels of detail services available should a car require even more attention.
I hope this helps!
* The shop where I took the SC (south Seattle) was the same local company that did my 3M protection and window tinting on my '06 RX400h (Bellevue) - they have a few locations in the area. The RX still looks great to this day which is why I chose to give them my business once again.
Yeah thinking of doing a full detail and paint correction once I take care a few things on the car. I want her looking pristine like she just rolled off the showroom floor. However I don't want to get it done then have a mechanic go mucking around and touch the car. I have a place that details all our family's cars, guy is pretty cool. He is one of the sponsors for our Cigars and Cars events.
Took car in for recall at Lexus of Austin, work took 4 hours to do, got a loaner and picked the car up around 3:30p washed but, no gas added.

Wait what? They add gas when you take your car in for service? I have an SC400 and don't normally take it to Lexus because they are a pretty ****** dealership with terrible customer service. However just took ownership of the SC430, I will keep that in mind when I take it to another dealer for service.
My console lid color wore out where my arm rests. I removed lid and redyed with a Sem. Came out perfect...picture looks light, but a perfect match in person.
MAN I had to do a double-take we have the same interior and same Lexus key chain. I was like did my wife take a picture in the car I don't know about. LOL.

Yesterday tidied up the garage a little more for the family bikes. I need to put up the wall organizers but put it off to go play outside with my daughters. Maybe this weekend.
Did this over the long weekend.
Replace the DRL at the bottom air vent with these switchback LEDs in the turn signals. It's blinding bright so I might have to turn it off.
Time for some maintenance today. Front brake pads had almost 40,000 miles. Current mileage 131,900.
Pads still around 40% but rotors had some groves. New pads and rotors... ( KYB front struts still doing fine.)
Found an issue on the drivers side. Torn boot caused pin to rust. Always remember to check the caliper guide pins and boots when you clean and apply fresh guide pin grease.
Had to replace the lower pin and boot.
I'm forced to ask: Glide pin with plastic washer-- top or bottom hole of caliper??!!
On my SC430, which has had the front brakes replaced at least twice before this time, I found the guide pin with the groove for the rubber washer/seal in the bottom caliper hole on both sides. The pin at the upper position had no groove or washer.
Interestingly enough, the replacement pin kit and boot kit I had to buy on a Sunday morning from Advanced Auto Parts ( Wearever brand, P/N 14112 pins and 18036A boots) had two guide pins and caliper bolts inside and both pins had the groove.
The boot kit had 4 groove washers and 4 boots. They don't sell a kit with pins that do not have the washer grooves.
Replaced the rear speaker cone foam today. Both were completely shot. Took about four hours to do including disassembling the back interior of the car to get to them. Three hours for the glue to dry. They sound great now. The subwoofer seems to be in good shape. I believe that it was previously replaced under warranty.
I still have the foam for the front doors and subwoofer. Total price was $51.68 with the free labor of course. Cheaper than buying new.
