Not difficult at all. The time consuming part is cleaning the old foam off. I have an knife kit from harbor freight that took it off in minutes. A little rubbing alcohol and some q-tips to clean up any residue and then glue on the new cones. You do need a torques bit T-20 for the two screws that hold the foam compression ring. Instructions are easy.
And the kit includes everything else including glue.
Is it the light or is the rear bumper a different color? The spoiler seems very nicely color matched though.

Its the hot *** Texas sun so bright gives it a different color look but, it is the same as the rest of the gold color. Lord kill me if I should ever drive a car with different color bumper and it was a Lexus. lol
Today I installed 25mm wheel spacers all around, inspected the suspension... found bad front lower control arm bushings and reset the VSC and VSC OFF lights on the dash.
Today was a spendy day for me - took the SC in to check for a very minor oil leak along with some upgrades and planned (and unplanned) maintenance...
Oil leak could not be pinpointed without a more invasive inspection by removing the valve cover, so I'll keep an eye on it for now and maybe have them do a more in-depth search when I have the timing belt replaced (just a hair under 160k mi today). Timing belt last replaced in Nov 2008 @ 90.1k mi (Carfax) by previous owner.
ISF rear sway bar installed, along with the Figs Engineering bushings discussed in this thread. I've had these parts since Nov 2019...collecting dust...*
Rear rotors/pads, as I bought these almost a year ago and still hadn't attempted it yet, so I opted for the shop to take care of it. Only record I have is rear pads last replaced June 2007 @ 60k mi (Carfax) by previous owner.
Surprise #1: Front rotor/pads, as the shop noted they were within 1mm of tolerance, so I had them do these too. Only record I have is front pads last replaced June 2009 @ 100k mi (Carfax) by previous owner.
Surprise #2: Lower ball joints were also noted as needing replacement, so that was done too along with an alignment.*
Now I just need to finally install the TRD door braces discussed in this thread. I've also had these since Nov 2019 but I think I can install these myself! Next planned upgrade will be to order the front sway bar (same thread above) and have that installed...
* On the drive home from the shop, I was able to make a few tight turns faster than normal, and did feel that there was less body roll. Also, the very slight steering wheel shimmy at 30ish and 60ish mph were considerably minimized.
Late notice, but I did clean 'er up back in April while both cars were going mostly unused due to COVID-19 and working from home. Nice to know she can still clean up well...
Hi CCC-TT,
I am looking to get wheel spacers too. What brand of spacer did you get/where purchased from?
Hi Jmal,
This is the link to what I purchased.
25mm 1" Hub Wheel Spacers 5x4.5 12x1.5 5x114.3 For Lexus 60.1 hub. https://www.ebay.com/itm/202843910462
- Be aware that you will need to grind down the stock wheel studs by about 4mm in order for these to work.
- I will post a video tomorrow detailing the process so keep an eye on my project thread, you’ll find it there.
Thank you so much CCC-TT, good to know ebay spacers are ok. I need to get black spacers because with the wheels I have, the spacer will be visible. I have found black 20mm (note I have 35ET wheels and plan to change tyres to 225/50R18) spacers by JTP and Bloxsport - both chinese companies. If anyone has tried these brands of spacers, would appreciate your feedback.

CCT, the red looks great! But I have to ask why you live in FL yet have an AL decal on the back. I hope you don't drive much thru Gainesville!!
