Knock Sensor Check Engine Light?
This is a follow up to my check engine light thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...ash-light.html. After having the codes read and the engine checked, turns out its the Knock Control Sensor that is not working. As explained to me that there are two Left and Right and after checking it out one of mine is out so it needs to get replaced. My mechanic is telling me its about 3.5hrs labor to get at it and replace it. And while there might as well replace the other sensor. Does anyone have experience with this? Does it sound right?

What were the codes?
And yes, this job is very involved...for your sake, I hope your mechanic is using more indications than just the code.
Again, if you provide me with the code(s) I will look them up in the Lexus service manual and post the Lexus checkout procedure.

BGW70, I will have to get it from the shop on Monday. Thanks. Other than the codes they had to go to the PCM. They Used an oscilloscope to verify 100-200 millvolt ac sine wave from the bank one and bank two knock sensors. At PCM there was no signal from the bank 1 knock sensor.

That certainly provides additional information and detail to the amount of testing they performed.
It sounds like they know what they are doing and you are good hands!
