Default What?

There are tools in the trunk?

Actually, you might be right.

I don't recall how hefty it is, but if it is like most of the lug wrenches that come with cars today, it's not long enough to get enough leverage to work on something that's on tight. My kit of allen wrenches (one metric, one USA) has a holder that works as a handle for the wrench and enables you to get some good torque working. I remember checking this out a few months ago to be sure I had the right size wrench with that kit, which I do. I did not think to look in the "tool kit," which I have not examined since I bought the car.

Is there anything else in there that might be fun.

I sure was disappointed to find out that the "first aid" kit had no high-powered pain relievers at all.

What a bummer.

Default First aid kit

Funny you should mention it. That was the only time I tried to use the first aid kit - when I had a hangover while golfing and sorely needed some Ibuprofen. What a disappointment.

There is an allen wrench in the tool kit that works on the pie plates. The tire dealer used it when I replaced the runflats.

Default new wheel cover/ knock offs

i've been talking to a custom wheel shop in anaheim... they know about the lexus cover and that they are relatively costly for what it is.... plastic pieces....

apparently there is a taiwanese firm that is already protyping a knock off of the lexus's new wheel cover.... and much cheaper....... i will check it out and see if the quality is good or not.....

Does anyone know whether the factory covers are going to have a right and left sidedness?
they are directional wheel covers so this may be an issues....

If Texas counts as North America, then you can go to the Sewell Lexus web pages at

www.lexus-parts.com (go to parts by model, and go to the "New for 2003 Accessories" page --

and specifically to:

http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetai...bCategoryID=74

where you will find the usual phots, and a statement by the dealer: "Pre-order your set of SC430 new designed center caps today! The target date to release the wheel conversion kit will be in [sic -- on?] May 15 of 2003."
The website now says:

Pre-order your set of SC430 new designed center caps today! ***the target date to release the wheel conversion kit is now June 19 2003.

The price they have is $469

Michael, according to the previous thread, the release date is now set for June 19.

FYI, I also read in another thread that Lexus may not release the wheel conversion kit at all due to potential "wind noise". Crazy, but someone did post that information.
