I think it's a fair price, it's hard to locate this model year. Let me know what you guys think of the price

So your garage is like mine when I got my SC in 2008 - I had a 2006 RL and a 2005 SC430. I since gave up the RL but man that was one good car in the snow. With winter tires, unstoppable. Compared with the SC, the ride is pretty smooth too but obviously no V8 torque out of the 3.5 V6. Be interested to hear your comparisons between the two after you have put some miles on the SC.

I also have a 2004 LS430. Maybe it's just me but the LS tend to downshift when it should, the SC is lazy downshifting, I really need to press on the gas to the floor for the SC to downshift.
The RL is quite when accelerating, it can do 5k rpm and you really can't tell unless your looking at the tach.
I do agreed the RL is really good in the snow, even with all season tires.

Does your model year of SC430 have the "power button" near the shifter ? Can try that. I am always in that setting.

Good Catch, also note that the 2nd gen gs300/400/430 suspension parts are interchangeable only on this model vice versa. On most Lexus the production number gets smaller with age increase, so i bet they only made a handful of these models.

I know I've mentioned it before. I feel that there are four ways to improve the transmission and throttle response on the SC. In order, of easiest to complicated are 1) PWR setting. This switch is located right at the gear selector. Increases the ECU shift points; 2) ECU reset. Unlpug the negative terminal of the battery for about 15 min. The ECU learns your (or previous owner's) driving style and adapts the shift points. Clearing the ECU gets you back to scratch and will learn your specific driving style; 3) Sprint Booster. Sold online. Is a Electonic Throttle Control that modulates the responsiveness of the accelerator (mixed discussions about this one, very costly for the occasional use); 4) Trans Pressure Mod- most complicted of the procedures listed here, but for me, the most beneficial. Involves draiing the tranmission fluid and dropping the transmission pan. Then changing the OEM pressure setting from hard to firm. I feel that the TMP was worth the money. It truly made my 2002 feel like a whole diffferent car. The best mod for these cars in my opinion. These are all mods that I've done on my car so I am speaking from experience. Anyone interested in these mods, try to search for the keywords that interest you for more details on each. I have usually documented all my results, good and bad, on this site as I progressed up the modification tree on my SC.
